Change is coming to Auto Liability Limits

Governor John Kasich recently signed House Bill 278 which increases the minimum financial responsibility limits for auto insurance. This is good news for Ohio drivers. Auto Liability coverage is required by law and pays for other peoples injuries and property damage due to an auto accident.

When the phone rings at the wrong time of day…

The phone rang.  It was 2PM in the afternoon.  Seeing it was my pregnant daughter, Ava, I took a deep breath.     “I have gestational diabetes,”  she said.  “I have to change all my plans,  I’m now a high risk pregnancy.” 

Proper diet and exercise is the key to controlling one’s blood sugar.  This month is National Diabetes Month.  For information go to diabetes.org.

With a smart phone (which you typically carry with you) you can easily save photos of all your electronics and valuables.  Receipts are best, but if you have a comprehensive loss (think Hurricane Sandy, fire, flood), photos may be the best and only proof you have of your valuables.  It’s so easy.

We Worked in the Dark

We worked in the dark, with no light except battery powered flashlights.  With phone and power lines down, customers walked and drove to personally report the claims caused by Hurricane Ike, Fall, 2008.  Here in Greater Cincinnati, 2.1  million people were without power, some for as long as a week.  Trees were down, roofs and siding were ripped off,  Cincinnati looked like the loser in a Godzilla movie.   The increasing frequency of claims (up 2.9% since 2005 IRC), and weather events have driven up the cost and demand for building materials. These factors have affected homeowners insurance premiums.
